The Robert and Vineta Colby Prize honors original book-length scholarship about British periodicals and newspapers published during the long-nineteenth century, scholarship of the kind Robert and Vineta Colby themselves produced during their careers. The annual prize is awarded to a book published during the preceding year that most advances our understanding of the nineteenth-century British press. The winner receives a monetary award of $3,000 USD and is invited to speak at RSVP’s annual conference the following year (with financial support to attend).
